We offer an age-appropriate balance of play-based and academic learning.
We use the following curriculum to facilitate our play-based and academic learning:
- Zoo-phonics ®: This is a method developed to make children strong readers and spellers using a “phono” (hearing), “oral” (speaking), “visual” (seeing), “kinesthetic” (moving), and “tactile” (touching) whole brain approach.
- S.T.E.A.M.: S.T.E.A.M. is an educational discipline that aims to spark an interest and lifelong love of the arts and sciences in children from an early age. Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math are similar fields of study in that they all involve creative processes.
- Academic Curriculum: Each classroom has a comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum, such as going over shapes and colors, learning letters and numbers, and learning how to write our names.
- Bible Curriculum: We tell stories of the Bible and act out the stories using puppets, felt boards, or our class. In class and on chapel days, we play games, go over a memory verse, sing, and dance. Along with this, we include coloring pages, arts, and crafts.
- Thematic Curriculum: This includes hands-on activities according to themes, whether we are learning about apples or community helpers. This curriculum allows children to stay focused and be more interested in learning because they are learning through real-life experiences. They develop a deeper and more meaningful understanding of concepts.
- Play-Based Curriculum: This includes children participating in activities such as building with blocks, sensory play, or imaginative play.
